Morning All,

Can anyone direct me to where in the HSE web pages, their job roles are explained (beyond an Inspector), or

what exactly does a HSE Regulatory Compliance Officer do?

Thanks in advance.

RVT - don't know!

When they were consulting about reducing "red tape" and amending RIDDOR to remove the requirement to REPORT an over 3 day accident and replace with a requirement to REPORT an over 7 day accident but still to RECORD an over 3 day accident (as that was the basis for Member States reporting to Eurostat)...

...the consultation document anticipated the possibity of the ever fewer front line Inspectors taking time to do visits and trawl through accident books to get intelligence about O3D accidents that had not become O7D accidents (reported or not) OR

for HSE staff to ring up employers to talk about what was in their accident books to get intelligence about those O3D but not O7D accidents.

May be a "Regulatory Compliance Officer" would be making such calls. Imagine the job satisfaction.

seems to have been asked before

Looking on the HSE web site the term acts like a will o' the wisp appearing in the search results but then absent when you open the page from the list

Most place it under the Hazardous Industries Directorate which would align with the earlier post

Probably one to ask those with a COMAH / Off-shore back ground

Hi Just done a Google search for HSE Regulatory Compliance Officer and all of the jobs seem to be general H&S bods in various businesses. I know that the HSE has in recent years hired people to “help out”  in inspections but to save money and reduce the amount of training required these people are not warranted inspectors.

All,

Thanks for those replies.

I did look online before I posted my query - will 'o the wisp is a good descriptor!

All I got were company roles too.

And, if an ex HSE Inspector doesn't know, then...?

Regards

R
