Hi all,

Is anyone aware of an organisation that can deliver the IOSH MS in German? It could be online or classroom.

Hi Chris

No Managing Safely in German listed on the IOSH Trainer Directory but that doesn't necessarily mean that someone has not done a version in German.

However, I think a provider would need to get such a version approved by IOSH as a bespoke package.

The general principles would be very similar to standard MS but with different legislation, and I think in Germany that means different legislation in different States.

Could be a market given increasing presence of companies whose primary language is English on major projects in Germany, e.g. Suedlink.

If you were to deliver Managing Safely in German to a bunch of Germans(or Austrians or Swiss) then it would simply confirm what they mostly know: the UK is 20 years behind the rest of Europe. I mean look at the slides, which haven’t been updated  at least that long.  The football analogy would also confuse them. If  a H&S management is like running a football team, then why have Germany won 4 World Cups to England’s 1?

The completely different legal system and the approach involving insurance companies as statutory inspectors, makes ask why you want to deliver this course to our German  friends.
