We have a folder with all of our risk assessments, COSHH information etc available in an unused office attached to the workshop, would I be OK putting the SSoW in there too or should I put them with their respective pieces of machinery?

Why not have a copy in the folder as you suggest as well as with the machines? That way you'll have a clean undamaged spare, easily accessable, once those within the workshop become damaged and begrimed over time. As long as the information is also communicated to and is understood by the relevant oeprators and monitoring is in place to ensure systems are followed. Arguably more important than where to store the pieces of paperwork.

The system has aleady been rolled out and communicated to the relevant personnel, and understood by them. Was just wondering where to store the hard copies, and your idea is definitely a good one. Thanks
