To be fair "Team IOSH's" posting was visible to view as long as one didn't log in and try and actually USE the Forums.

Still having problems

The notice on the front page has gone, but when you enter the discussion forum area the banner at the top is missing except for the work 2022 logo and join us option. You can't log in or anything ( though others seem to be able, as they have made posts today). I had to log in to alter my IOSH details and then come from there to this forum!

Just in case others are wondering how to do it.

Chris

Ahhh, what I didn't consider was how I was going to log out.

The banner at the top is back, so I can log in again. Once logged in I still don't get the log out option ( I have to log in again and let it fail), but at least it is back to before.

The Log OUT is still a problem that as Chris indicates can be overcome usually by trying to log IN again, at which point usually you are asked if you actually want to log OUT.

If that fails you can just close out, but that leaves risk of your confidential details still be left visible when you close our from a site clearly marked as "Not secure".

That's reasonably safe IF you have your internet settings set so that all internet history is deleted whenever you come off the internet

- but still leaves the danger when you are logged IN to the Forums if you decide to open a new window where you also have to use confidential data.

If, and when, the Forums (and MyIOSH) are moved to the main iosh.com site (rather than the former iosh.co.uk site) this might all be resolved.

In the meantime, users should be careful when on the Forums and heed that red warning triangle and those two words that follow.

To log out you sometimes need to push the log in button twice and sometimes once. It then takes you to an error page where it says sorry, but then gives you a logout button. This then takes you to a “are you sure” option. Finally, you are out.

So, if log in does not work first time don’t just crash out, try it again.

I have got used to this over the last year or so.

Chris
