Hi All, I work for a company that makes ducting, the guys on the shopfloor form duct from sheet metal using a 3 roll Bender, the problem is they insist on wearing gloves as they would cut there fingers on the raw edges of the sheet metal. I have looked at all guidance I can find and all the guidance I read states you cant wear gloves unless they are fingerless. The problem is when they roll the duct they have to use there fingers to stop it re-entering the rollers when it is formed. Has anyone else come accross this problem, any help would be appreciated. Brendan

Hi Brendan Can the edges of the sheet metal not be dulled using sandpaper or grinder? I would have thought the use of gloves in this activity would increase the risk of entanglement so I'd be looking at activities you can do to make the sheetmetal safer.
