Hi,
I work for a pharma company and we are in the process of building a new facility to handle highly potent products. I have studied a lot in this area over the last few months however, I am looking to see if there is anyone out there (unlikely I know but no harm in asking) if there are any similar companies out there whereby someone in this forum may be willing to allow me a visit to site.

The purpose of this would be to look at how other similar companies control the health and safety of their staff in such facilities. I have no interest in products and appreciate that any competitors would not be willing to support such a visit however, it would be nice to see how others control the safety of their employees in terms of exposure / facility layouts such as airlocks/misting showers etc.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Lisa,

I wish I could help, but not in the industry.

However, have you tried getting in contact with any trade associations or even the Chemical Industry Association to see if they can put you in contact with a suitable company?

Although you are right about the 'competition' aspect for most interactions between competitors, this does not usually arise when it comes to H&S. A significant number of companies are very open to sharing good & best practices when it comes to H&S.

I really hope you find a suitable company.

All the best,

Tony.

You might be able to get some advice from DSTL, who have loads of experience with potent  products. They are a friendly bunch but obviously might be bit touchy about what they share.

thanks 1 user thanked A Kurdziel for this useful post.
