I have a query about the markings for disabled bays as it only has chevrons on one side and that there is not enough space for the member of the public to get out of their car. This is not my area of expertise but I have looked on the internet and found the following information around the size and recommended requirement: BSI stanadards 2400mm x 4800mm with a 1200mm width marked access zone, Should have one space for every employee who is a disabled motorist plus 5% of the total capacity for visitor parking should be designated as disabled parking, with a further 4% of the total visitors parking consisting of enlarged standard spaces. Would appreciate any further information that any of you may be able to share with me. Thanks.

Provision of parking & disabled bays is set by the local authority planning and typically by use - retail/leisure/education/work etc. Your first port of call should be the local planning department although be careful if your LA s one of those which implemented workplace parking space taxation
