Evening Folks,
A little guidance please.
Who would we expect to ensure quality of work and compliance with an electrical contractor working above a false ceiling for compliance ?
Any assistance appreciated
Cheers Ted

Care to phrase your question in a manner that would elicit an appropriate response? Are you meaning who would check the quality of work? Are you meaning who would check the work had been done in compliance with the various regulations? What is "compliance" working above a false ceiling? Normally contractors are chosen as being competent workers in their field ergo why would any checking be required regardless of being above or below a false ceiling? Do you take your car from the main dealers following a service to have someone else check they have compliantly conducted the service?

And another question, is the customer of the work a business or a domestic client?

....and another Q, does the client tell this contractor what is lurking above the false ceiling e.g. asbestos containing materials?

Ted are you asking because you cannot see what they are doing above the false ceiling? As far as me and the HSE are concerned unless you are qualified as an electrical contractor you should not check on that work, or even alter an Electrician's method statement.
