LGP gas stored on site for contractor use , I was thinking to myself what is classed as good level of controls in relation to how many should be held on site ? For example 1 truck / 3 bottles on site one of which is in use and the other two stored in a designated area away from the main building clearly identifiable to all , including the fire recuse plan updates I’ve looked at the HSE and for large volumes of LPG storage and systems it seems clear but for the small volumes I want to control its less obvious to me and lastly I don’t see a need to decant the live bottle away from the truck when not in use this Anyone come across this scenario
Regards John

That all sounds like common practice to me. Never heard of it being removed from the truck when not in use.

I concur with Kate. We have several LPG FLTs and the operators do not remove the bottle when the trucks are not in use. We do not need to carry spares as we are lucky enough to have a bulk tank onsite for refuelling.

As per the above however you need to store the LPG on and off the trucks away from sources of ignition i.e. battery chargers that may be charging other trucks.
