Hi

I'm aware that the HSE do not like drivers standing on the opposite side of the vehicle whilst the other side is being loaded, incase of push through. This is a big risk when loading from one side of the vehicle and pushing pallets or IBCs across but less of a risk when loading from both sides.

Has anyone got any documentation or reference from the HSE relating to their position on this as I can't find anything, only verbal form other experts in the Industry.

Hi Gemma

Not sure about the HSE guidance but we have a FLT exclusion area around the delivering or collecting lorry, where there are no FLT movements when a pedestrian is there.

Other than that, the driver must be in the cab or a barriered safe area when there are FLT movements

The HSE guidance around workplace transport required sepaartion between pedestrian and vehicular traffice. the above satisfieds that

Hope our experience helps
