Post-Traumatic-Stress Related Event and RIDDOR

This post is about an over-7-days inacpacitation of a worker, further to an evacuation event in the workplace that had a clear (and GP-diagnosed) traumatic effect on them. They had to be 'violently' removed from the workplace under emergency circumstances, and by the way this had nothing to do with their normal scope of work. There is a possibility of a whiplash diagnosis that may arise from the evacuation also, but we have no medical check on this yet, due to the advice being for the worker to rest before tests are carried out for that. We are currently approaching the time window to report under RIDDOR also, so we can only anticipate that whiplash may very well arise. So, your thoughts please on reporting this event under the RIDDOR 7-days incapacitation category, thanks.

Get the report in - it is no admission of guilt but highly likely to be needed when the ambulance chaser turns up.

I would report - better to do so and not need to, than risk not reporting in time.
