Just to let everyone know there is VAT relief for people with disabilities for certain goods and services.  For example having a new bathroom built, widening doorways and passageways, even purchasing a car.

Just put VAT relief disabled into the search bar.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that - I am just about to ask for quotes to replace the bath with a walk in shower at my mums house for her so will ensure to ask for vat free quotes in that respect as she has limited mobility and vision so should qualify. It wouldn't have crossed my mind if you hadn't posted so appreciate it.

No probs.  According to HM tax people there is no need to prove she is disabled.  The supplier claims back the VAT and you should be billed Free of VAT.

However if she has not applied for PIP she should.
