After years of being able to go on the internet and readily source information from the HSE web site today it has a fresh new look. If this is anything like when our corporate bodies go in to overdrive on an image refresh you can expect a lot of broken hyperlinks - possibly not on the HSE site but very possibly where a reply on this forum has included a link to HSE. Going off to check.

I'm very disapppinted with the information available on the HSE's website. I'm not sure when it changed, I appreciate there was reference to the EU when looking up an ACOP, COP or guidance note but I can't find anything on there. It appears to be HSE-lite (appologies for the american spelling). I'm no longer getting my news and updates. Do I have to return to a commercial provider or am I doing something wrong?

Im not sure about your reference to the EU but i have just had a quick look and easily found a number of ACOPS or guidance notes with a very simple search so far no broken links no nasty surprises - but give it time.
Sorry i should add i got my last update on Friday so dont know if they have stopped - just had a quick look and appears to be even more avilable now - may have to reregister will see what i get rest of week HSE: Latest news on health and safety at work

As per HSSnail might be worth checking registrations. NOTE: HSE as a government organisation do go quiet during purdah (the run up to an election) to avoid accusations of bias.

Not sure if anyone else has come accross this but the new web site shows some HSG's have gone and replaced by Priced publications!

There have for as long as I can remember been links to priced publications, but when you follow the link you get a choice between buying a printed copy and getting a free download. It's misleading but you can still get it for free.

Do you have an example Chris? I know the HSE has been switching to industry guides for a while like the LPG Association stuff, and the Green Guide, and once that happens you have to pay.

Sorry yes you are correct Kate you can still get a free PDF when you follow the link, but it was directly under the heading HSE Priced publications. I therefore stupidly assumed that you had to pay for it now. When you previously hunted for it, it just took you to the page to download for free or buy.

Yes, exactly - it is both misleading and alarming!
