Hi can anyone advise where I could source some training on the legal and sensible approaches to highways waste management operation and permitting. We have a legal dept and insurance but not sure if that is the right way to go so if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great. I have looked at the IOSH and it is too generic I need specific information.  EL

I think the lack of answers here to your question could be because there is slight confusion over what it is you want to know.

The first question I would ask is 'what is so different about highways waste management from other waste management activities?'.

From my point of view non-hazardous or hazardous waste is not exclusive to any industry (unless, maybe, nuclear, but let's not go there!).

For solid waste then separation by type is the norm.

For liquid waste, it depends on what is in the waste but you would be looking at bunding, storage and disposal through proper waste companies.

If you have anything specific in mind, then you may want to bring this out here so that you can get a specific(ish) type of answer.
