Rank: Super forum user		So as we are all aware there are some supply chain problems acquiring sufficient PPE - we now have the potential that some equipment may now reach our shores not necessarily CE marked nor tested to European Standards https://www.gov.uk/guidance/opss-coronavirus-covid-19-guidance-for-business-and-local-authorities HM Gov has written to both the Notified Bodies who conduct testing and the HSE who enforce market surveillance asking them to consider suitability for the task rather than absolute conformity.

Rank: Super forum user		When considering the selection and use of gloves as protection conformity does not necessarily indicate fitness for the task for which it is being provided. For example, the EN ISO standard for gloves for chemical protection (EN ISO 347) actually states that the standard does not indicate suitability for a specific situation. I wonder how the HSE is going to assess suitability for the task as opposed to CE conformity.

Rank: Super forum user		This government (most governments) want to have their cake and eat: they want guarantees of safety but they don’t want to be “held back by red tape”. It’s called squaring a circle and you just can’t do it! So they are going to have to choose: keep CE marking which may cases delays and short supplies or cross fingers and have a free for all. Well they all desperately want to be elected and now they have to start making decisions and live with the consequences.
