Hi all, does anyone have, or can point me in the right direction, of an Audit Template? We have an existing one but it has been altered / modified so many times its losing (lost) its usefulness. Buisness is general manufacturing (e.g. process machinery - some heavy, storage, transportation, offices etc.). Looking for either a paper format (tick box) or electronic. Thanks in advance.

JHF - not trying to be difficult but the first question is whether you want an inspection checklist or an audit template, or both.

For audit, you need to think about why you are doing it. Are you looking at compliance with your systems, compliance with legal requirements, a mixture of both, or something different. All sorts of reasons to want to do audits, some good, some a wish to do safety by numbers.

Inspection checklist is going to depend on a whole series of variables including the level of H&S competence of the person for whom it is designed. Some will need more prompts than others.

Either way, you also need to consider how comprehensive you want a checklist to be. Are you wanting to look at everything or perhaps those areas you consider present greatest risks (including as regards health and worker welfare) or perhaps those areas where you think there is most room for improvement.

Plenty of people out there who will sell you generic nonsense that is unlikely to meet your organisation's needs.

Hi Peter, thanks for the reply, it is an Audit form I need. It will need to cater for all areas of work. Was looking for someone with recent experience of forms, the one we currently have / use was obtained from another company, its 10+ years old! - was wondering if there is a more up-to-date version. Have looked at IAuditor, presume there are others?  Thanks.
