29th April 2020 and we are treated to the 30min reversion of Garden Rescue - in this Walsall based epsiode we see a stihl saw pluming cement dust in to the atmosphere whilst the operative and by-standers are present. No hearing protection, no water supression, no eye protection, no dust masks - good job this one is not being classed as a Covid educational video.

Generally the BBC has a reputation or being very thorough when it comes to H&S but this programme is made by a company called Spun Gold TV for the Beeb and I wonder how good they are at the old risk assessment process. Speaking of the BBC I once had to get the late Lynn Faulds Wood to wear a labcoat. She was one of those people who is both forceful and nice at the same time. I liked her. She wore the labcoat as did her crew.

Was it going out live? If we had live feed from our employees, we should not be surprised what they get upto! There is a difference with someone doing something stupid on the spur of the moment and a planned recorded programme.

I watched the rather slow SAS reality (?) TV show last night on Ch4 where Z list celebs are beasted by former special forces guys. One challenge was a face down abseil down a 60m mountain on Raasay in West Scotland The celebs wore PPE, but the tough SF guys were too hard for helmets and stood below the abseiling amatuers seemingly dodging stones as they were dislodged and fell towards them. Frankly I think (I hope) it was fake, as the camera operator had his or her back to the falling rocks (that you hear but dont see) but wasnt dodging the stones - and the camera angles suggest it was the same camera pointing in two dircetions at the same time - a clever trick if you can do it! Not a great example to set

Of course its fake- they have one camera and film from each angle separately. I have been filmed before and they want to change the angle multiply times to make it more interesting so I have to do the same thing (or pretend to do it) at least 4 times.
