Hi, yes I have read the guidance page on the gov.uk website.  However, I would just like some confirmation from you guys.  We have 7.5t lorry that we use to transport steel to the sub-contractor painter or galvaniser and then pick up and return to our yard to be assembled or shipped etc.  Am I right in thinking that if one of our guys (not a driver as his main job) drops it to them or goes back to collect then they would need a cpc?  It isn't limited 28mph, the guy isn't self employed.  thanks....

Hi, not the usual H&S query here, but yes, the driver would require full 35hrs of driver CPC card.  Doesn't come under the exemptions for several reasons, mainly that the vehicle is loaded for business.

No, not usual but that is the good thing about this forum - loads of experience in everything!  Thanks for your help.

Does your driver have an occupational driving licence? if not then they won't be able to attend driver cpc anyway. We have had this at our place for drivers driving vans with trailers.
