Could someone please advise if a single F10 can be used for numerous sites, the F10 form states the address of the construction site and local authority so if it was to be used for numerous sites can you add the name of the principle contractor and the area in which their offices are located? and asnwer the multiple site question with a simple YES, I have seen this adopted and wonder is it sufficient as the scope question would not be carried out at the address on the F10?

Latchy - YES F10 is NOT a prescribed form unlike the former F10 for notification under Section 127(6) of the Factories Act 1961. CDM has a schedule which dictates what is to be notified, NOT how it is to be notified. It is for the client to determine what constitutes the "project". There is no reason why a notification should not set out muliple locations where "construction work" associated with a "project" will be done. Might not suit HSE's online system, but if that system is not fit for purpose, that is HSE's problem.
In Northern Ireland, the HSENI makes it clear that you can notify by means other than NI10 (which is HSENI's equivalent online notification system). The HSENI system is also more flexible because it allows an online notification to be made before the appointment of the first, or only, Principal Contractor. When new information is available this can be notified by email. Without a lot of effort the HSE online F10 system simply cannot accommodate many types of project, e.g. the large infrastructure project that might take 10 years before the Main Contractor builds the road or whatever and where there might be numerous Principal Contractors on site before that Main Contractor, sometimes on site (though probably not at the same location) at the same time.
