Hi all

I was looking through HSG53 on the different types of RPE, when I come to the appendix at the back. For re-usable half mask respirators (p31) there are 3 classifications of mask;

(1)Gas

(2)FFGas

(3)FMGas

Can anyone tell me what the FM and FF stand for?

This may be really simple but I cannot think. I thought it was to do with the type of gas but I have never seen it stated. For the hoods, there is explanation that TH = Turbo hood but nothing for these FM and FF categories.

I appreciate your help.

Kind regards

FFP - Filtering face peice

FM - Functional mask...someimes used more to describe CBRN type masks used by Police or Military..

Thanks for your reply.

I must admit if it said FFP, I would have got it but cannot think why on this specific entry they state FFGas. It seems like one of only very few (or the only) time they are referred to like this.

Thanks again.
