We are currently following all teh Governement guidlines but was wondering is anyone doing anything extra?

At the weekend one of our drivers tested positive for Covid which meant we had to temporarily close one of our Buildings. Our drivers collect from our stores and go directly to the Customer premises and so we need to do more to protect our staff and customers.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as Im stuck with just the current guidelines.

ERIC PD - HM guidance already covers Reduce, Isolate and Control.

They don't want unecessary application of PPE so all you are effectivley left with is Eliminate.

Can you segregate the drivers from all external contact with colleagues/customers/family/household AND maintain the business?

Unfortunately your business is not an island that can be readily segregated from any and all potential routes of exposure.

we are currently in the process of risk profiling employee groups...we have been doing it in africa for some time..but to look specifically at work adjustments in addition to basic hygiene and social distancing rules...we have had a few nightmares with companies literaly steaming thier employees as they enter the site...we have found tho' we can control our vulnerable group more by targeting thier individual issues which in most companies doesn't get done as well as it should...it has involved some staff being moved around to low risk departments with less exposure potential etc...and a change in some procedures...as drivers in africa were probably one of the main sources of AIDS transmission we have crontrolled them tighter than most in that country...not saying your guys are that...happy to have a chat about...but essentially get OH involved and HR and use that team to risk rank the workgroups and individuals and then sensible control measures based on individual and collective medical risk..simple really :) only joking it is hard to wade through it as there will be emerging issues like COVID19 anxiety etc to deal with and in driver groups you get a rather blase attitude to the whole issue..happy to discuss it ..you have my number.. :)
