Hi

I am hoping that someone can help me get some clarity...

Have the Health and Safety Management Regulations 1999 been amended in 2006 and replaced by The Management of Health and Safety at Work (Amendment) Regulations 2006?

When i search the internet the 1999 version comes up but then when i specifically enter 2006 this also appears.

Any help would be appreciated.

The amendment you refenced is a change/amendment to just a small part of the original act, so we would read the original act inclusive of the amendment.   It doesn't replace the original act.

I tend to use the legislation.gov website for looking at acts/regs etc, it will show if it is the 'original' verswion and usually includes the ioption to read it 'as amended'.   Just looking at the original Act, it does nopt included the 'as amended' versions so you have to include the subsequent amendments your self if they are relevant.

The amendment regulations amend the existing ones - they don't replace them.  So it is still the original ones (or the original ones "as amended") that you would refer to.

Thank you that is really appreciated.  That was what i was thinking but the more i thought about it the more i confused myself!

So it remains the Health and Safety Management Regulations 1999.

If you look at (almost) any UK legislation on the legislation gov website, you can see it's original format and how it has been amended.

+ what it CURRENTLY says.

So, as example, if you open up the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974, you would see that it has been amended many, many times over the years.
