Hello all,
I´m currently performing a RAPP study for a jack pallet moving finished goods from a production line to a warehouse. Some people recommend pulling the jack pallet instead of pushing to increase maneuverability. Some others recommend pushing rather than pulling for safety reasons. So, my understanding is if I choose the pulling method (walking forward with one hand behind pulling the jack pallet) I will ALWAYS get a poor score in the posture section (A2) due to the following : "Hands are behind or on one side of body
or above shoulder height". Is this argument accurate?

Depends upon which way the operator is facing. When I start to move a pallet truck I will pull towards me with both arms forward. When I finish the operation I will push the truck away from me with both arms forward. If the floor is smooth and level, and the truck is in good operational condition, it is of little difference if I am pushing or pulling with one arm the inertia is already in the load. Of course you can eliminate all debate by using powered trucks.
