Can anyone offer any advice on what the rules are regarding mandatory signage on electrical cupboards. We have locked electrical cupboards in a residential home for the elederly and i am trying to find out if it is mandatory to have signage on the door that states there is an electrical danger?

Mhuirem As it is an Electrical Cupboard as opposed to an Electrical Switch Room then there is no requirement for mandatory signage on the door of the cupboard.
The Distribution boards or Consumer Units within the cupboard must have their relevant Danger Electricity signage posted upon the boards themselves to comply with BS7671 18TH Edition of the wiring regulations.
This will be sufficent to identify the electrical risk present as opening the cupboard door should not if the equipment is installed correctly present access to an electrical hazard at that point without removing equipment covers.
