I  thought you may be interested to know about a book I co-edited with my colleague Dr. Olga Kuzmina titled ‘Challenges for Health and Safety in a Higher Education and Research Organisations.  It is released today and published by Royal Society of Chemistry.   We partly wrote the book as we couldn’t find anything similar for the Higher Education and Research sector.

The book has 18 chapters relating to best practices in approaching health and safety in this unique environment, with learning outcomes and suggestions for all HS professionals regardless of their sector.  We have authors from the UK, Europe and USA who have contributed.

More info and the list of chapters can be found here: Challenges for Health and Safety in Higher Education and Research Organisations (RSC Publishing)

I thought this may be a useful resource for IOSH members to be aware of, as it gives some detaile ddescriptions of how HS is integrated into various aspects of research and university life.  We are having a online book launch on the 4th December via Eventbrite.  If individuals attend they also get 25% voucher for a copy of the book. Details about the event are here.

Many thanks

Stef
