Hi all, please can somebody clarify whether geda ladders require a TE under LOLER? I know ladders do not normally fall under LOLER, usually just WAH, but geda ladders are somewhat different. I assume it should be because they are more like a lifting accessory, but wondered if anyone could confirm for sure.
Thanks again.

As it is primarily designed as a hoist then it's purpose is to lift a load so LOLER would apply.

On the assumption that you use this inclined hoist for its designed purpose and not as an access ladder then I agree with Roundtuit that it's subject to LOLER. As there were debates about such equipment before LOLER HSE published guidance on the application of the Construction (Lifting Operations) Regulations 1961 over three decades ago in PM63 Inclined hoists used in building and construction work 1987. HSE took the view then, and would still do, that these are lifting equipment, rather than accessories.
