Do people who run businesses from home need a RA? I'm thinking of hairdressers, childminders, caterers, &c. If so, would they do this themselves or get outside help? ie. an enterprising Graduate IOSH member like myself. Would there be a demand for a low-level RA service?

Yes - if 5 or more employees they need to be written, I would say they need to have them done and have them recorded - just in case.

Depends on what  you mean by a risk assessment and on what legal basis you might consider that a risk assessment is necessary.

But an enterprising Grad IOSH should understand what rules do and do not apply to those employing less than 5 people.
