Dear All,i am looking for a device that a lone worker can use to alert in case of emergency preferrably something monitored and that you can communicate from.Any recommendations gratefully received.

You need to be very clear about what you want the device to do and how you want it to work. Its not just as easy as buying a dveice and thinking Job done. There are lots of companies out there that will give you advice. Dont think that a device will take away your lone worker responsibilities - it should form part of your control system.

Back in my management days, there was a device on the market called Sentinel. If the wearer didn't move for a period of time, there would be a pre-alarm, and if they didn't move for another 7 seconds, the full alarm would go off. I thought about buying them for my plant operatives, but decided I couldn't stand the noise!
