Last time I looked all that was needed a copy of the SDS to be posted/made available.   This was a few years ago and the yanks might have gotten around the idea of  risk assessment since then but I doubt it.

Waiting to be shot down (!!!) but in very simple terms OSHA is about presriptive and proscriptive Regulations and in the absence of these you don't have to do anything.

So, there is no overarching duty to protect, qualified in the UK and some other countries by "so far as reasonably practicable".

OSHA Regulations and associated standards do actually require higher standards than the UK on some issues, particularly as regards exposure limits for some hazardous materials.

But, partly due to the nature of the Regulations, people across the Pond may have difficulty in recognising that there are different ways of doing things. So, as example, very strong emphasis on LOTO (Lock Out, Tag Out) when we might decide that too many Permits results in Permits not getting the level of attention they should.
