Can anyone assist with advising on where I would find information of H&S considerations when buying fixtures and fittings for a commercial setting i.e. childrens' rooms and bedrooms?  I am aware that they need to be fire resistance, labels attached to furniture etc etc. Thanks

A lot of the regulations and therefore the essential requirements come from the General Product Safety Regulation (read directive 2001/95/EC pre-Brexit) which cover items such as folding beds, window blind (pull cord) safety

https://ec.europa.eu/growth/single-market/european-standards/harmonised-standards/general-product-safety_en

Summary list of standards at the bottom of the page.

Most of this transferred to the Office for Product Safety & Standards

One thing not to buy for UK sockets are "protectors" as they can damage the internal shutter mechanism

Then of course it is down to any special needs e.g. bed hoists
