Hi All, Requesting where to seek advice on ways to insert a steel column with limited headroom. The base must go over the front of a facia before being lowered into position, therefore initially at an angle! Plant (s) & Equipment used. Any website, imagery or individual that could assist with advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi Ted Assuming in the UK then probably subject to CDM and even if not this is about consideration of the principles of CDM, including, in particular, designer duties. So, could one solution be to build the column in sections? or can you remove the fascia and other obstructions, fit the column and then put everything else back in place once the column has been fixed?

Thank you Peter, Option 1 is a non-starter due to the fibre optics running through the facia, option 1 is and I shall wait until the contractor comes back with their methodology If they go for a technical lift I am waiting to see what equipment they are going to use. In the meantime, I shall do my research having never been involved with such an operation Once again thank you for your time Ted
