Evening all, Given you don't count the day of the injury, if an IP returns to work having been injured on the last of his 4 day shift pattern, after a day gap and returns on light duties - are those 4 days treated like a weekend in an otherwise 9-5, Mon-Friday? i.e. If light duties haven't returned to normal duties by day 8 (last day of second 4 day week), then it becomes RIDDOR reportable.
For clarity, I'm hoping for actual experience of others within the forum. The HSE's page says 'weekend and rest days' are included. So unless told otherwise, I'd say it's pretty clear and 'Yes'. Thank you in advance

I agree with you. "This seven day period does not include the day of the accident, but does include weekends and rest days." HSE RIDDOR site
The continuation on whether light duties stop the process, or come under "unable to perform their normal work duties"
Is up for debate, although I am firmly on the side of the caveat is all inclusive (i.e. they must be able to carry out all their normal duties, rather than just some of their normal duties)
