I am considering moving to this new neighbourhood with my mum, who uses a wheelchair. However, the flat recommended by my company is not DDA-compliant. I am looking at this DDA lift compliance service. How can I convince the property owner into making the building comply with such rules? Any tips on how you would do it if you were in my position?

Wouldn't looking for somewhere step free be a simpler solution?

You are going to have difficulty in persuading those managing an existing building to instal a lift if there was not one in place before. All about "reasonably adjustments" which are unlikely to include major structural changes.

Are we not now operating to the Equality Act 2010 rather than the Disability Discrimination Act 1995?

Based on the language looks more an opportunity to post an irrelevant hyper-link
