Hi, my company has recent joined up with a similar private healthcare provider in Spain. We're trying to gain an understanding of non-clinical H & S/fire safety requirements as they don't appear to have an equivalent of me (CMIOSH/MIFireE). What we're especially interested in what training do they require? I provide IOSH MS under licence, and despite the element around law, it covers the basics. Question is, does it come anywhere near to the normal training they receive? Alternatively, provision of NEBOSH International Cert. - where does that sit? Any joint/global H & S guys like to comment, all welcome. Thanks, tim Edited by user 25 March 2022 16:20:48(UTC)

Tim Have you asked your partner Spanish company? I don't know what the law says in Spain, but subject to similar requirements of the "Framework Directive" 89/391/EEC (as amended) where Article 7 covers the issue of a "competent person" inside and/or outside an organisation. For similar reasons as in the UK, I doubt that whatever rules are set in Spain would be so prescriptive as to indicate a specific set of qualifications and/or postnoms. But, your Spanish partner should have some sort of idea of what the norm for a comparable organisation would be. The OSHA-EU website should give you some clues as to how the Framework Directive (and its numerous "Daughter" Directives have been transposed in Spain. Good luck, Peter
