Hi Can someone point me in the right direction with regards to what we can and cannot do with regards to obtaining / requesting health information for contractors, what can we ask for with regards to a contractor coming to work on our site, i think we should know if they have any medical needs especially if one of our own first aders was required to attend and for their own health if they were working at height ect should we be asking them to complete a health questionaire? Thanks Andrew

The answer is absolutely nothing - you are not their employer - they are under no legal obligation to provide any health information even including matters such as Covid vaccination status. Any personal confidential data requires demonstrable need for dissemination so even if you did obtain the information up front it would only be "in the event of" could it be shared - by which time hopefully any injured party would be in the hands of actual medical professionals rather than First Aiders.
People with health issues warranting communication such as epilepsy or diabetes will generally have an item such as an SOS talisman unlike the rest of society totally unaware of their impending stroke or heart attack.

Are you talking about getting a company in to do some work for you and asking the people they send to do the work to answer health questions? If so then it is the responsibility of the workers' employer, not you as the client, to consider their individual health needs and you should only do anything about such health needs if you are asked to.
Or are you directly contracting with the individual workers?
