Hi, Could someone please advise if there is any guidance relating to fire alarms requiring monitoring by an external company? I've never come across a site before that has the intruder alarm monitored but not the fire alarm and just wanted to check if this is acceptable. Thanks.

If the fire alarm system is aimed at protecting life safety, there is no requirement for it to be monitored. It is there to raise the alarm, perhaps operate fire safety functions (closing fire doors, grounding lifts, turning off ventilation etc) all of which are there to help people to reach a place of safety.
If the fire alarm is a property protection type alarm, they may well do all the above, but may well be required by the insurance company or a business continuity strategy to be monitored to call assistance out of hours

I'll expand on Messey's point as follows.
If someone is in the building when there is a fire they won't rely on the monitoring, they will call 999 so the monitoring is unlikely to contribute to saving their life even if they need to be rescued. If no one is in the building, as in the case of an arson attack at night, then the monitoring comes into its own as someone gets alerted to what has happened giving an opportunity to limit the property damage.

Our head office intruder alarm is remote monitored, but fire alarm is not. This is what our insurance requires (the intruder alarm is required to be remote monitored, the fire alarm is not required to be monitored, but is required to exist and be serviced).
There is a link wired but not connected, so actually I can make it remote monitored with a small screwdriver and about two minutes work, if the insurance company changes its mind on renewal.
