Looking for any guidance on what the distance(s) should be for setting a portable diesel generator away from a building.

When a diesel generator could (with appropriate controls) be installed / used within a building?

Hi - depends on the fuel tank and size overall of the generator - some insurance companies will have a min distance set...but mostly is comes from NFPA30 (NFPA 70 then refers back to NFPA 30) which can give as little as 1.5m depending on the vulnerability of the building...if I find the insurers advice I will post it...

The generator is not the big issue but the exhaust fumes are. No matter what the rules say make sure the fumes cannot enter the building.
