Cheers for the reply, I'm looking for it for handouts on a course, I've scanned a copy but not as good as original PDF. I've got other WPT leaflets that i use, but for some reason didn't save that one.

Hi Oakwood. Amongst the problems is copyright.
The Open Government licence applies to all HSE publications, but HSE's copyright rules say that you can't reproduced the HSE logo and you have to attribute whatever you use with a specfied form or works. Which in practice means that simply dishing out copies of an HSE pdf is out of bounds - though often done, and probably without HSE doing much about that. However, that the HSE has withdrawn the guidance gives you an added problem - Is the guidance still authoritative. Why not compare what it way is WPT13 and HSE's current guidance and generate your own guidance, based on taking such parts as are relevant to YOUR business? If you cut out the bits that are irrelevant to your workforce, what's left is much more likely to be taken on board and understood. P

The withdrawal of the leaflet may be linked to the production of a specific guidance book for WPT. You may find what you need in that. You can download a free copy from the HSE website. https://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/books/hsg136.htm
The withdrawal of HSE guidance in general is becoming a real problem. Much of the guidance is simply being withdrawn because the HSE is no longer reviewing the documentation, so it's expiring by default. There is nothing wrong with the guidance. But as mentioned - this can't be assumed in all cases! The HSE has said publically that it is reducing the amount of guidance it is willing to produce and maintain and the they 'expect' industry to be producing its own guidance. Unfortunately, industry for the most part is not plugging this gap, which is just widening over time. As a consultant, I find this a serious problem. I like to reference where any particular requirement comes from. But I hate having to reference a guidance document that has been withdrawn. Yes I know it can be linked back to the Regs, but clients often ask 'Where does it actually say that is what I have to do to comply?'. Hope it helps, Tony.
