i've been asked what the gradient should be, when walking off a tee on a golf course.

i can't find any details golf specific, so wondered if the standard calculation for gradient is right?

Gradient = Run / Rise

eg: if i have 10,000mm run & a raise of 500mm the the gradient is 20 = 1:20

any ideas on this one would be gratefully received.

There are no design criteria applicable to golf courses as they tend to adapt natural geographical features

I have seen courses where the tee is sat on a raised platform accessed by steps so thoughts there is a standard "gradient" or range thereof is miss placed.

Then you factor in the footwear has cleats/spikes meaning a greater incline may be acceptable for the average ability user.

You could of course contact the national associations for their views on accessibility for impared users.
