Wouldn't you be better using internal NHS safety forums and communication methods to contact H&S people at other Trusts rather than posting here, where your post may or may not get seen?

Doesn't matter what sector, benchmarking the make up of an OSH team is always going to be difficult depending on the tasks that the OSH team do. So, as example, my guess is that in many acute hospitals, manual handling training is NOT a task given to "H&S" - as example it might be integrated into the wider training of those e.g. handling patients, or it might fall to some unit called "Training". and as if by magic the OP disappears. Bench marking requests from senior management are usually "why can't we do this cheaper" rather than "what could we be doing better".

When I was in the civil service we organised( we being various H&S professionals) our own bench marking. I don't think we asked senior people in whitehall whether we should, we just did it. by the time they found out it was too late for them to stop us but they did start asking for reports and the like, which made interesting reading.
