Hi. Hope well. I'm looking for some guidance/ information on moving Eurobins. We have two types on site - 660l and 1100l versions. They are currently transported on electric pallet trucks from the area of use to a compactor. They carry waste paper/ cardboard. Just reviewing our processes. Can't find any general gudiance/ instructions, so at the same time as this post contacting the supplier. Any help very welcome. Kind regards A

Confused, euro bins have wheels so why are you using a electric pallett truck to move them????

Many thanks for your reply. Absolutely right. However rather than pushing them, we currently use an electric pump truck to aid manoeuvring. Seen some good kit for moving these, however just wanted to see if there was any guidance out there.

Hi Adep - you might find something in the guidance from WISH - Waste Industry Safety and Health forum. If you go to the hse.gov.uk pages and type Waste in the search engine, you will find a link to take you to the WISH guidance. That said if you are using the pallet truck because it is difficult to push the Euro bins due to e.g. uneven surfaces, then putting a Euro bin on a pallet truck could open up new issues of e.g. stability of the pallet truck. Since I rather doubt that WISH is going to be of much aid I think it is going to come down to a site specific assessment of the various risks. P

Not seen anything on the WISH site or come across anyone using powered trucks to move them. Has its already been said im not sure a pallet truck is the right kit unless you have locating pockets to ensure the forks are in the right position. I have seen power tugs used to move heavey items on wheals, Loads of sites on internet this was just one i found. Which Multi-Mover electric power tug is the right one for me?
However these things are heavy in themselves and most waste vehicles are not geared up for carrying them, so you might just be switching one manual handling risk for another if you are traveling around sites. Edited by user 29 March 2023 13:53:11(UTC)

Hi Brian, Thanks for your post. Re: tugs saw something similar. Also contacted our suppliers and they have suggested the locating pockets for the forks. So this is something we will look into. Kind regards A
