Morning folks,

I am looking for literature on when and how to use a harness in a basket on the end of a boom arm. Also if two or more people are working should we still wear them. I have listened to talk about the trip hazard issue when more than one person works from the platform. Any help would be appreciated

Also, the IPAF document: https://www.ipaf.org/sites/default/files/2018-11/H1-TE-019-0717-2-en-GB.pdf

I would go to IPAF site and look at their literature as they are a specialist in this subject, furthmore visit CITB CPCS where you will find similar guidance.

I would answer that the MEWP you describe, often referred to as a cherry picker, the occupants should wear a fixed length lanyard, as short as reasonable to enable movement. they should both wear and be clipped on. the objective of this harness is to keep the workers in the boom and prevent them falling out. DO NOT wear a fall arrest harness.
