I am 'sort of' retired, but have been given the opportunity to take up a very part time (almost zero hours) self employed role to keep my grey matter from rusting over. It involves conducting up to 25 fire risk assessments a year - mostly FRA reviews. That is of course, on average, one every fortnight. I have been looking for PI and PL insurance and the quotes seem astronomical. There seems a blanket price regardless of risk. I will not be working in high risk premises such as those with sleeping risks and no residential premises So does anyone know of an insurance company who will provide a quote that is proportionate to the risk I am creating?   Many assessors will be doing 25+ FRAs a month in blocks of flats presenting a considerable risk for insurance companies to cover. My meagre 25 a year in low risk premises surely represents a considerably lower risk for them, so why not a considerably lower premium? Thanks
