According to the statistics there have been 49,800 threads on this particular Forum.

About the same number as there are Members of IOSH.

So, after this thread just 199 before a big milestone is reached. How should we celebrate?!?!

How about a new, up to date forum format with spelchequer and edit facility - plus one where you dont have to enter the security letters 5 x times before the post loads ???????

I propose to set up a prize fund for bets on what the topic of the thread will be.

My money is on RIDDOR.

No chance - they'd say it was too expensive and shut the Forums instead .

My money is on a "This is post number 50.000" type of post BUT already exceeded 50.000 posts!

Hi Messey

Every time IOSH does a Member survey when it asks me what the main benefits of Membership I usually tick the box "other" as the questionnaire rarely mentions these Forums and then type in some text about their value BUT with comment that they need some TLC.

Of course the value extends to people who are NOT Members of IOSH but that is appropriate as it fits in nicely with the last few words in the "Objects" of the Institution as set out in Article 3 of IOSH's Royal Charter - “in the interests of the general public benefit”.

To be honest, even before a spell chucker, it would be good to see the link to the Forums to be put back on the top right hand corner of the IOSH home page (as used to be the case, such that the Forums were much more visible) and sorting out the Log OUT function + making the Forums internet SECURE.

How about an informative, accurate and insightful article in IOSH Magazine about the forums, with an allocated CPD time for reading and reflecting on the article?

Hi Alan

Where do you see that number?!?!

I think there are Forums restricted to members of Council, ditto the Future Leaders' Community.

Possibly those are more user friendly and get some TLC, though I would think that if they are still aligned with iosh.co.uk I guess they have similar issues.

As I remember I was the very first Super Forum User.  I wonder if I can get to be the 50,000th Forum User.  I'm sure there will be some competition for that achievement.

Assuming the web site doesn’t just self-destruct completely before the number is reached, my money would be on some sort of click bait advertisement. They don’t always seem to get taken down even once reported.

Thanks Alan

That indicates a significant amount activity on apparently 59 dark Forums!

Numbers not much different from when you posted

"There are 510,531 posts in 72,963 topics in 66 forums."

However, looking at the numbers against three Public Forums and four available to all Members we have approximately 440,000 posts in about 67,000 topics in 7 forums.

Be nice if the forum went back to being accessible - yet again having to go to iosh.com and scroll to the link at the bottom of the page to log in.
