Hi Please can you help me out?
I have been doing some research and it looks like Jersey has it's own Health and Safety at Work (Jersey) Law, 1989, (HSW Law). Does anyone know if CDM applies in Jersey? Thanks for your Support!

Hi Woodpecker I have worked on a project in Jersey in the past and found that where Jersey hadn't got round to writing Regulations to cover whichever EC Directive, they generally followed the model in GB (sometimes even calling on the HSE for help e.g. on dealing with "major hazards". At a quick glance at the guidance that has been identified in the two previous responses, it appears that the Jersey CDM look alike is a bit like a cross between the project notificaton requirements in what was Factories Act 1961 Section 129(6) updated to take into account the short duration but high volume projects such as a supermarket quick refit (hence a threshold of 500 person days as well as the 30 days) + then a variant on CDM 2007, so incorporating what was broadly taken from the Construction (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1996 to add to a modified version of CDM 1994 to create Part 4 of CDM 2007. The Health and Safety Inspectorate in Jersey appears to have learnt from some of the problems that have come from three GB iterations of CDM.
