I have to do a presentation on Digital detox and the importance of switching off. Reasons fro it as well as strategies and techniques that can help.

Does anyone have a presentation I could steal/borrow, or have a good source of information that's not too boring.

Thanks in advance.

Did I mention this is due on Thursday?

Hi Phil

It might help if you gave the readers an idea of who your audience is expected to be and how long the presentation is to be, with or without a period for discussion.

However, some thoughts come to mind.

1. Who gave you this task and when? Is it possible that it should be them or someone else doing the delivery and that it is just another thing dumped on the Safety Bod?

2. What are managers (and others such as clients or other external stakeholders) doing to help your people detox? As example how many of your bosses send out emails after normal hours BUT including a footnote encouraging you NOT to read if outside your working hours? [I have only ever seen one such note!!].

3. What is done to distinguish the IMPORTANT from the URGENT from the IMPORTANT AND URGENT?

4. How often do you get asked to respond to some survey which is advertised as only needing 5 minutes of your time which you either rush in 5 minutes or take half an hour to think through properly? Do the people asking you to respond actually want you to give enough time to the task or are they expecting you to spend only 5 minutes which allows them to say they got a decent response rate?

5. .....and so many other variables which are likely to impact all aspects of your workforce's ability to time manage effectively or undermine that ability.

Shouldn't this really be a task for a leader to demonstrate that this has full managerial support?
