Hi,

We have some guys who complete tig welding. There is an articulated arm LEV system in place and the guys wear welding masks and filtered masks. However, a local training provider has suggested they need to wear air fed masks and the LEV needs to come from below (ie, bench LEV). I can't find anything to clarify these requirements? Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance.

If this training provider "knows their onions" they should be able to state regulation and schedule to back up their statement.

Of course you could look to the HSE COSHH welding guidance
