We have an occupational health scheme for our vehicle technicians with an third party provider. On-site clinics are arranged throughout the year and individual appointments are scheduled for each technician. Generally, this works well but we do have a technician that has failed to turn up for two scheduled appointments which were communicated in advance. We have now completed the clinics for the current cycle and do not plan any more until next May. Are we obligated to arrange a specific ad-hoc appointment for the technician who has missed the previous appointments or is it sufficient to wait until we have the next clinic on site next year? We do not have any specific medical concerns but clearly, we hold regular clinics for a reason. The technician will be invited to discuss why he has failed to show up for the previous appointments so that we can understand his reasons; this will also provide us with the opportunity to highlight the importance and benefits of attendance.  Thoughts welcome.

Depends upon why you have made these arrangements.

If it is merely a supportive excercise there would be no need.

If it was in relation to a specific regulatory health surveillance duty (e.g. ionising radiation) a suitable appointment should be made in accordance with the regulatory requirements.
