I know the HSE has recently issued guidance but this seems to be mainly aimed at rock concerts and large scale sporting events like football matches.

Additionally, the Stationary Office produce 'Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds' Although more than you require I found that by adapting and downsizing the advice it contains it will do the business for indoor sporting events as well. I stress that you will need to adapt to the activity, size of venue and number of persons, taking part or spectating.
