Posted By Alan Roe Could anyone tell me which regulations would cover the impact of noise on unborn children. Obviously risk assessments applies but are there any other regulations that should be considered?

Posted By Mark Preston In New and Expectant Mothers at work: a guide for employers" HSG122 - referred to in recent thread in this forum - The HSe has this to say...
Noise
What is the risk?
There appears to be no specific risk to new or expectant mothers or to the foetus, but prolonged exposure to loud noise may lead to increased blood pressure and tiredness.
No particular problems for women who have recently given birth are breast feeding.
How to avoid the risk
The requirements of the Noise at Work Regulations 1989 should be sufficient to meet the needs of new and expectant mothers.
